Our History

We, a group of believers in and around Morris County, New Jersey, had been seeking God’s will as to what he would want his church to look like in this area. We initially met in the back yard of a particularly hospitable man and woman in our church on Sunday, June 10, 2007, to seek God’s will through prayer and fellowship. Thirty-two people, including teens and children, met that day with Steve Spell leading in the Word, and we all believed that God was calling us to form our own church. On June 14, the federal and state filings were finalized and our church was born. The following Sunday, we met to pray and to confirm our desire to follow the will of God. We called Robert Dalsing to be the Senior Pastor of New Beginnings. We continued as a backyard church for a few weeks, praying for a more stable place to worship. God answered our prayers and on July 6 we began to lease the Presbyterian Church in Wharton. God has blessed us tremendously and we look forward to growing His kingdom here on earth.

Recently, we’ve been gathering in the Mission Hall of Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Church in Rockaway. After God called Pastor Rob away from us, we were once again without a leader. After a few short months of searching, we found Pastor Doug Becker and his wife, Jamie. Since coming on board in July, Doug has faithfully taught the Word of God and has focused his attention on launching our small group ministry. He’s connected with youth and seniors alike, and is busy training leaders. We are blessed to have one another, but we are even more blessed to know and proclaim our Savior, Jesus Christ.
