When we talk about missions, we are talking about our efforts, through the power of the Holy Spirit, to be obedient to Jesus’ great commission in Matthew 28:29–30:

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Jesus gave a similar commission to his disciples in Acts 1:8, shortly before he ascended to sit down at the Father’s right hand:

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Christ’s mandate for his church sets the agenda for what we are to be doing as the church, both at home and abroad. To this end, we strive to make missions our utmost priority.

Missions is a huge part of New Beginnings. Through it, we support other ministries outside of our local church body, as close as our own communities, and as far as halfway around the world. We intentionally support missionaries and ministries who exist to spread the gospel of salvation through Jesus Christ, and who contribute to that by exalting the name of Christ through works of mercy and compassion.

All ministries listed on this page are supported by New Beginnings in whatever way we can–through prayer, giving, and volunteer support, when possible.

Monthly Supported Ministries

Missionaries and ministries that New Beginnings supports financially on a monthly basis.

Ben and Becky Stevens

Ben and Becky 3.3.14Ben and Becky Stevens are a young couple with hearts to reach the large and affluent Western city of Berlin. Berlin is typically viewed as part of post-Christian Europe, where the church once played a significant role in the lives of the citizens, but now no longer holds any real meaning in everyday life. Ben and Becky’s strategy is to share the gospel in a way that is relevant and thought-provoking. May God multiply their work in Berlin!

Caleb and Melissa Gibello

Gibello FamilyIt is an amazingly sad fact that, today in the 21st century, there still remain people  groups in our world that have never even heard the gospel, and who don’t only not have Bibles, but don’t even have Bibles that exist in their own languages! Many of these groups reside in the the Oceanian country of Papua New Guninea. The Gibellos have an awesome family mission: To preach the gospel and plant local churches among these unevangelized people groups and villages of Papua New Guinea. They are currently raising support for their ministry, and plan to be on the field by January 2016.

Missionaries to Closed Countries

kaabaNew Beginnings supports missionaries in countries that are typically considered closed to the gospel. For security reasons, we do not share any more information about these ministries. Please pray for these beloved brothers and sisters, that the name of Christ would be glorified, even in the dark corners of the globe.

Gospel for Asia

Gospel for AsiaGospel for Asia trains and sends national missionaries to reach out into areas where the Good News of Jesus Christ has not yet been heard. These national workers have proven to be extremely effective in this work, due to their familiarity with the language of culture, and the fact that they live at the level of the people they serve. GFA has been doing this for over 30 years, and we are excited and privileged to be able to participate with them in this great work!

Transformation Life Center

TLC Background w. WhiteTLC is a discipleship training center that ministers to people with life-controlling issues. Located in West Park, New York, and funded fully through private donations, TLC is a blessing to many whose life decisions have left them with no where else to turn. Since its founding over 30 years ago, their ministry has been exclusively to men. However, the Lord has recently provided the means for them open a women’s center as well. Lord willing, it will be launched in the next few months.

Market Street Mission

Market Street MissionThe Market Street Mission ministers to the homeless, helpless, and hopeless in Northern New Jersey by meeting their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs through a structured program which enables them to lead responsible, productive lives. They present the saving power of Jesus Christ to rescue men from the consequences and ultimate penalty of sin and disciple them for victorious Christian living. Programs are offered that help men recover from alcohol and drug addiction, giving them a “hand-up rather than a hand-out.”

WorldVision-LogoAs a church, we support a 12 year-old girl in Lesotho, Africa. Our support provides her with food, clothing, medical attention, and both academic and spiritual education. She is in fifth grade and wants to be a nurse when she grows up. NBBC’s people are encouraged to write her as pen pals. For more info on how to do this or to send a special gift to her, please visit our missions table during a Sunday morning service.

Morris County Interfaith Food Pantry Food Drives

Interfaith Food PantryJoin us for a few hours on a Saturday to collect food and donations for people who live here in Morris County. It takes just a little bit of time, and it is a tremendous testimony to people about what Jesus’ disciples are all about. The planned food drives for 2014 are on April 5, June 7, August 2, and October 25. Generally, we need help from 9 am until 3 pm for collecting food, and then until about 4:15 when the food is taken to the Pantry and dropped off.
