211 Groups
We believe that being a follow of Jesus involves more than attendance on Sunday morning—it means being involved in each other’s lives as we strive together to be better disciples. One of the ways we do this at New Beginnings is by meeting together during the week in small groups that are hosted in our homes.
We call these 211 Groups (two-one-one). What’s a 211 Group? It’s a group that meets four times a month: Twice to study, once to party, and once to serve.
Study:
Each group is different. Some may study questions taken from our sermons; others might be into in-depth Bible study; still others might be going through a book or discussing different topics. While these groups are all different, one thing remains the same: they are all places where we can feel comfortable to be real with one other and find lively discussion on the deep questions of life.
We’re currently studying John Stott’s classic book, Basic Christianity.
Party:
Once a month, we get together with no other purpose than to have a good time over good food with good friends.
Serve:
Our groups also devote one meeting per month to serve those around us. This could be anything from helping out at a food pantry to raking someone’s leaves. We strive to be the hands and feet of Jesus in our communities, and this is just one small way we make this happen.
